Funeral services for James Vardaman Baswell will be conducted at 10AM Saturday from Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Rev J B Rowe of Eupora will officiate. burial will be in Greenwood cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside.

Mr Baswell, age 76, died Thursday in Ivy memorial Hospital. He was born in Oktibbeha county to the late L O Baswell and the late Carrie Kornegay Baswell. He formerly resided in Sturgis, but had lived in West Point 20 years. He was a retired car salesman, a member of the Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge of West Point.

Survivors include his wife Mrs Nellie Burton Baswell of West Point; two daughters, Mrs Frances Gainer of Mobile and Mrs Mildred River of Demopolis; one son, Billy Baswell of Meridian; one sister, Mrs Lola Jones of Starkville; one brother, Onnie Baswell of Sturgis; three grandchilder; and two great-grandchilden.

Pallbearers are members of the local Masonic Lodge.

Honorary pallbearers are his many friends, and members of the Masonic Lodge of West Point.

Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
