Mr Maxwell was a native of Spiro, Oklahoma. He lived in Modesto 31 years.
He was a truck driver with Moreno Bros. Trucking for 20 years. He was a member of the Amber Lights citizens band radio club, the Channel Blazers and Bumm Truckers. He was an Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his children, Sallie Ann Wumkes and Claudette Moreno, both of Modesto; brother, Sidney Maxwell of Oklahoma; sisters, Hester Brewer of Oklahoma and Ozella England of Modesto; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday a Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson.
