MACON - Percy Clinton Hardy, Jr., of Macon, passed away on January 20, 2005. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Hardy was born in Houston County on March 9, 1938 to Mary Tunnison and the late Percy Hardy, Sr. A long time resident of Perry, GA, he was a graduate of Perry High School where he was well remembered as an all-star athlete. He was also a member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army as a parachutist; and after his military service, was employed at Robins Air Force Base.

Mr. Hardy received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Georgia Southwestern College. He taught at Westfield Academy in Perry for many years and served as Head Basketball Coach and Assistant Football Coach. He touched the hearts and lives of many children and was loved and respected by all. After his retirement from coaching he worked for ING Financial Services. For the last decade, he fought a gallant battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Beverely Bridgeman Hardy; his mother, Mary Tunnison; two brothers, A. Jack Hardy (Nola) and E. Floyd "Dick" Hardy; sons, Brett C. Hardy (Tammy) and Wade G. Hardy; step-daughter, Heather Seagraves (Kelvin); step-son, Marlan Ashley Arnold and granddaughters, Eve and Lydia Hardy. He will also be missed by sisters and brothers-in-laws, Nita and Luther Williams, Marzie and Aubrey Kitchens, Jo and Bill Veal, Marion and Harold Gray and Sheila and Brodie Gammon as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
