T C used to teach singing schools and tune pianos. He ran a grocery store in Clarksville, Ark. (This was his first business venture) He had a grocery store at Baker's Creek, next. He ran a cafe in Painview, Ark for a year. He lived in Ola, Ark for 10 years and ran a cafe and grocery store. In 1925 , he taught singing and tuned pianoes in Ft. Smith , Ark. He moved to San Francisco, Calif. in the Fall of 1927 and had a piano shop. He moved back to Russellville, Ark in 1931 after Mary had died of TB. T.C. was hit by a car on March 29, 1947 on West Main in Russellville, Ark. He was coming home from town, carrying an apple crate on his shoulder and started to cross the highway to go to Tippie's store to get some candy for the boys and turned to look and didn't see the car and was hit by a car driven by Mr. Chronister (He owned a furniture store on the north side of town). He had a loss of hearing and a broken leg that left him disabled. As he was convalescing he began to study the Bible. He began writing his pamplets or tracts "100 Lessons in the Schoolhouse of the Lord" and passing them out in June 1964 as he talked to people about the Lord.
