Veterinarian, Retired, Dies
Dr. Otto Augspurger, 85, former Winnebago county veterinarian, died at 11 p.m. Saturday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. H.L. Rumpf, 10622 S. Talman ave, Chicago, after a brief illness.
Dr. Augspurger was Winnebago county veterinarian for more than 25 years, retiring eight years ago on the appointment of Dr. B.L. Lake to that post.
He was born June 15, 1869 in Butler county Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Augspurger. He lived 30 years in Rockford coming here from Chicago. Dr. Augspurger married the former Cassandra Hughes in Hamilton, O., Oct. 6, 1891, she died Feb. 25, 1951.
In addition to his daughter in Chicago, survivors include three sons, Luther and Earl, both of Rockford and Russell, Arcadia, Cal.; a brother, Beckett, Hamilton, O.; and seven grandchildren.
