Henry Marble, a farmer living between Allen's Hill and Baptist Hill, lost a valuable gold watch and chain last week. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Marble went away from home in the afternoon and left the hired man alone. He Was working in the field when they left the house, but they were no sooner out of sight than he went into the house, took the watch and chain and "lit out." When Mr. Marble came home that evening he notified some officers of what had happened and they immediately gave search. They were out all of Saturday night and Sunday and traced the thief to this place, where he took the 9 o'clock train for Rochester Monday morning. The name of the young pilferer is Mattison, who has had a bad reputation for some time.
