Sarah Evelyn Edwards, 58, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at Hospice Home Place in Tyler, Texas, after a short battle with cancer. She was born July 1, 1941, in Palestine, Texas to William Clinton & Blanch Agnes (Blanchard) Grant. Mrs. Edwards had been employed as activities director at Grapeland Nursing Center. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband Cleo Adams; they were married Nov. 6, 1956 in Anderson Co., Texas. Her second husband was James Albert Brent Sr. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Bruce Edwards of Grapeland, they were married Apr. 26, 1976 in Anderson Co., Texas; stepmother Ailene Grant of Elkhart; daughters, Melinda (Adams) Hudson, of Conroe, Tammy (Adams) Wick, husband Glenn of Rusk and Jamie (Brent) Allen, husband Dewayne of Beaumont; sons Johnny Adams, James Brent Jr., wife Angela (Davenport), both of Grapeland, Jason Brent, wife Brenda (Woods) of Beaumont, and Chad Edwards, wife Stephanie (Adams) of Grapeland; sisters, Elena Glasscock of Tyler, Martha Basye of Itasca and Iva Lou Crawford of Elkhart; brothers, William D. Grant of Elkhart, William Kale of Grapeland and Marvin Gill of Frankston; 14 grandchildren: Amy (Adams) Henderson, husband Dustin; Shanna, Adam, & Chris Wick; Britney & Sarah Hudson; Meagan, Chelsea, Noah, & Harli Brent; Kayla, Courtney & Kirsten Brent; Christian Edwards, and one great grandson, David Henderson.
