Enid M. Kempcke, 88, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 23, at First Lutheran Church in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Enid Marian Jensen was born Dec.7, 1920, in Washington County to Chris E. and Carrie (Bolt) Jensen. On May 4, 1941, she married Gordon Kempcke in Blair.

Mrs. Kempcke worked in the Washington County Clerk's Office and left that job to become a full-time homemaker when her daughter Katy was born. She was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was active in Women's Circle activities and was a member of the Social Susies Extension Club for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Kempcke enjoyed traveling with the Washington County Bank Heritage group on several occasions.

She is survived by her four children, Katy and Mark Iversen of Sidney, Mont., Paul Kempcke, Kristie and Dan Thompson, and Phil and Mary Kempcke, all of Blair; grandchildren, Rita, Mrs. Johnny Steinbeisser; Kari Iversen; Michelle, Mrs. Dana Hasbargen; Becky, Mrs. Clint Williams; Brian and wife Abbie Thompson; Brett and Hailey Thompson; Nick and wife Amy Kempcke; Alicia Kempcke and Nate Kempcke: great-grandchildren, Jayden, Maddison, and Sophia Kempcke, Cole and Cody Steinbeisser, Dillan and Molly Hasbargen, Cecelia and Quinn Thompson, and Ellie Williams; sister-in-law, Lois Jensen of Rifle, Colo.; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Art and Marilyn Kempcke of Blair, and H. Dean and Eleanor Kempcke of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, and a brother, Donald E. Jensen.
