"After a lingering illness, Mrs. Ruth Jarvis passed away last night at her home on Green Street. She was 85 years of age. Mrs. Jarvis was the daughter of David Valentine & Letty Nostrand and was born at West Hills, March 11, 1841. When a young woman she married Jonathan Jarvis, of Melville, where she resided until his death many years ago. Sinch that time she has lived in Huntington. Mrs. Jarvis leaves three children, Miss Addie Jarvis and John & Amasa Jarvis of this place. She was a faithful member of the Central Presbyterian Church, and its pastor, the Rev. Douglas Buchmann, will conduct the funeral services at the house, Monday at 2 p.m. The interment will be in the Huntington Rural Cemetery".
