Born near Greenville, Kentucky, October 9th, 1858; received schooling at Greenville College for Young Men and at Western Kentucky College; spent seventeen years teaching in public and private schools, which profession he abandoned for the ministry in 1897; he has preached for White Mills, Glendale, and Elizabethtown churches in Kentucky; now ministering to Salem church.

Spouse: Mary Adella Ann Vaughn (1869-1949), married July 28th, 1886, at Hopkins County, Kentucky – one daughter (Marietta) and five sons (Jasper, Clayborn, William, Kia, Bev)

Father: William Booker Allen, Sr. (1814-1900)

Mother: Candace Ann Kitchens (1824-1898)
