William "Darvie" Acreman, 73, of Lake Wales, died of complications from Alzheimer's Disease on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Dove Health Care.

He was a native of Luverne, Ala., who had been a resident of Lake Wales for 27 years coming from Haines City where he resided for 18 years. He was the owner/operator of Acreman's 66 Truck Stop in Haines City. He was a member of the Central Avenue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Helen Acreman.

He is survived by his wife, Nona B. Acreman of Lake Wales; daughter, Marilyn Kay Noles of Haines City; stepdaughter, Eleanor Smith of Greenville, S.C.; two sons, Mike Acreman of Lake Wales and Darrell Acreman of Winter Haven; two stepsons, Robert M. Williams and Ralph E. Williams, both of Lake Wales; a sister, Mollie Sasser of Haines City; brother, Leroy Thrower of Haines City, 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Central Avenue Baptist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or Gideon's International.
