Walter "Tag" Jamison
Walter "Tag" Jamison, 89, of Troy, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 at his home in Troy from natural causes. He was born July 31, 1918 in Thompson Falls to George and Zella Brown Jamison.

He grew up and attended school in Noxon. In 1937 he moved to Troy.

On Oct. 9, 1943 he entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on Dec. 10, 1945. He returned to Troy where he went back to work in the woods.

In 1957 he moved to Walalla, Calif. where he worked in the woods falling redwood trees. In 1972 he returned to Troy.

He retired in 1980 just long enough to realize he wanted to go back to work. Tag enjoyed working.

His parents, a brother, two sisters and a granddaughter preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his wife Betty Jamison of Troy; son Clint Derr and his wife Ruth of Couer d'alene, Idaho; six step-children: Glenn Garrison and Robert Garrison and his wife Becki both of Troy, Charles Garrison and his wife Judy of Broken Arrow, Okla., David Garrison of Hot Springs, S.D., Orville Garrison of Oklahoma City, Okla., Renee Taplin and her husband Trevor of Creston, B.C.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at the Church of God in Troy. Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.

A reception will follow at the church sponsored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary
