J. Ronald Crowther, 83, Roxbury, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at Salina Regional Health Center. Mr. Crowther was born June 7, 1915, at Roxbury and was a lifetime resident of the area.

He was a farmer-stockman and rancher, worked for the Salina Sale Barn for 52 years, was co-owner of J.C. Rodeo for 20 years, a member and former elder of Roxbury United Parish, a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Kansas Quarter Horse Association and a lifetime member of the Cowboys Regional Rodeo Association.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dennis Crowther.

Survivors include: his wife, Wilma of Roxbury; a son, Jimmy of Roxbury; four daughters, Katie Weis and Lynnie Crowther, both of Rosbury, Karen Sutton of Salina, and Karleen Burch of Elko, MN; a brother, Glennon of Durham; two sisters, Dorothea White of Canton and Doris White of Marquette; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roxbury United Parish. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury.
