VIETNAM VETERAN

Robert William Horton, 59, a resident of Port Orchard died January 9, 2010 at Bremerton Naval Hospital. He was born to William and Martha (Lawerence) Horton, Sr. November 1, 1950 in Hoonah, Alaska.

Robert served in the United States Navy in Vietnam achieving the rank of Engineman third class prior to being medically retired due to service related illness. He later worked in road construction with his father until his health prevented him from continuing. As a double amputee, he truly enjoyed the independence his prosthetics provided him. He enjoyed computers, and was also able to enjoy gardening, fishing and hunting.

A celebration of Life is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 19th at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard with a reception following at the Given's Center – Kitsap Room from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday, January 20th at Retsil Veteran's Cemetery also in Port Orchard, at 10:30 a.m., with full military honors.
