Clara Dorr is associated with two architectural landmarks in Pensacola. Her father, George Barkley, built the brick home in which she was raised between 1825 and 1830. The Barkley House overlooks Pensacola Bay and is among the oldest surviving masonry structures in Florida. In 1871 Dorr built a home on Seville Square from the inheritance she received on the death of her husband, Eben. She lived in the home until its sale in 1896. In 1974, the Dorr House was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
