Cora Mae Graves was born to Edward and Ada (DeBates) Cleppe on October 11, 1901, in Aikinson, Illinois. in 1909 she moved with her family to rural Jasper where she was raised and grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Gearhart Graves on April 15, 1925 in Pipestone. Following their marriage they farmed in rural Jasper until 1959. In January of 1960 they moved to California and lived there for a short time before moving to Illinois where they resided until moving back to Jasper in 1962. Cora then worked for several years at Pates Cafe in Jasper. Her husband preceded her in death on April 17, 1978. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Cora became a resident at the Good Samaritan Home in Pipestone on February 15, 1985. On May 5, 1986 she entered the Pipestone County Medical Center and on May 17 entered the Pipestone County Nursing Unit. Cora died at the Pipestone County Medical Center on Monday afternoon, June 16, 1986, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 5 days. She is lovingly remembered by two sons: Edward of Jasper, MN and Thomas of Pahrump, NV: four daughters: La

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Verna Mae Baustian, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
