Thelma R. Bieber, 87, of East Seventh St., Watsontown, formerly of Montgomery, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Williamsport Hospital. Born October 17, 1920 in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Winifred (Rishel) Ranck. She and her husband, Preston Bieber celebrated 27 years if marriage until his death in 1969. A homemaker all her life, she helped with the family farm in rural Watsontown earlier in her life. She was a graduate of Watsontown High School. Thelma was a member of the Ladies Aid of Maple Hill Church and the New Columbia Senior Citizens. She was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church of Allenwood. She loved to crochet, play cards and do embroidery. Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law; Larry S. Bieber, Berwick; Randall S. and Ann Bieber, Montgomery; Robert J. and Ann Marie Bieber, Herndon; and Scott M. and Julie Bieber, Watsontown, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Doris M. and Jacob Brownsburg, Watsontown; Rebecca S. Rhone, Bloomsburg; and Reba J. and Kenneth Crawford, Montgomery; 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; three sisters; Phyllis Bower, Allenwood; Pauline Staggart, Montgomery; and Virginia Ocker, Northumberland; and four brothers; Arthur Ranck, Allenwood, Russell and Forrest Ranck, both of Watsontown, and Ralph Ranck, Montgomery. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown. Burial will follow in the "old section" of Turbotville Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to the New Columbia Senior Citizens, 859 Datesmans Village, West Milton, Pa 17886.

Miss Thelma Ranck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ranck, of Allenwood, and Preston Bieber, Watsontown, R. D., were united in marriage last Friday evening in the Presbyterian Church at Allenwood. The Reverend Sinclair Reid, pastor, performed the ceremony.
A reception was held at the Ranck home after the ceremony, for the bride and groom and a few relatives.
