He came to Kansas in 1879,and engaged in cattle business.Later he took a homestead in Rawlins Co. where he farmed for 26 years. Jan. 6 1897 he was united in marriage to Lena Agan. There were two children, Leon 1900-1914. And Charlotte Ruth
1898-1983.In 1912 the family moved to Weeping Water Ne., where Stephen ran a livery stable. He was also a night watchman and was a city Marshall. In the spring Stephen & Lena moved back to Achilles and built a house on their property there. He resided there until his death in 1930.
