Mr. McKim was born July 30, 1858, the son of John and Rebecca McKim. He was married in 1875 to Miss Isabella Cathey. She died and in 1906 he married Mrs. Martha Roland.

Surviving him are his wife; one son, Claude McKim of Chehalis, Wash.; five step-children, Elmer Roland of Hartford, Watson Roland at home, Laurence Roland of Moravia, Mrs. Mae Harper of Unionville, and Mrs. Grace Peterson of Chariton; one sister, Mrs. Melvin Stocker of Ottamwa; one brother, Frank of Florida; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Those from a distance who at tended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Roland and son Billyand Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roland of Hartford; Miss Pauline Roland of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Peterson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mikesell, and Clyde Anderson of Chariton; Mrs. Melvin Stocker, Mr. and Mrs. Versal Stocker, Mr. and Mrs. Burnett Therigo and daughter Barbara, Mrs. Eva Bailey and son Emery, Mr. and Mrs. Halbert Bailey, and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Brooks, all of Ottumwa; Mr.and Mrs. Jack Bailey of Centerville.
