Lived on Levi (his father)'s homestead. Source quotes Levi's grandson Levi (of Levi and Syrena) on pg 78: "We think that the old homestead where my grandfather lived, is the same as that given to Pine by Runnels. Rufus MERRILL lived there, and left it to his son G[eorge]. H. who was so unfortunate as to lose one hand by the bursting of a gun, thus rendering him unfit to work the farm, so he sold it to strangers. My father [Asa} and his brothers Phineas and Edward owned farms adjoining it. I own and live on what was once my father's [133 Flag Pond Road, Saco], all the rest having passed into the hands of strangers. Possibly it was all one farm once. (Source: Ancestry of Walter M. Thurston giving some account of the families of CARROLL, DE BEAUFORT, MERRILL, MOORE, MOSBAUGH, PEARSON, PINE, POORE, REYNOLDS (Runnels), VAN KRUYNE and VON BAUER 1894 by John H. and Walter M. Thurston. Saint Paul MN: Thurston & Son, Printers. This book was found in the walls of the home of Levi and Syrena when the basement was opened for the addition of the great room around the year 2000.)
