-- FORT MILL - Mr. Billy Charles Howington, 72, of 9883 Harrisburg Road died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville in Pineville, N.C.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Carolina's Cornerstone Church, with Pastor David Garrick officiating.

A native of Tattnall County, Ga., Mr. Howington was a son of the late Anderson and Lillie Harper Howington. He was a former employee of F.D.Y. Food Services of Charlotte. He was owner and operator of B.C.H. Express Co. of Fort Mill. He was a member of Carolina's Cornerstone Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby H. Howington; his son, Randy Howington of Laurensburg, N.C.; his daughter, Shelia H. Helms of Fort Mill; his sister, Nellie H. Moore of Matthews, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. today at the church and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Carolina's Cornerstone Church, building fund, 1705 U.S. 21 Bypass, Fort Mill, SC 29716-0938.
