Kernie L. Crider, 83, of Marion died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, served in the Korean War and was a retired member of the Insulators Local #37.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Pierce; and a son, Jock Crider; a brother James "Bud" Crider; grandchildren, Alec and Francesca Pierce; and a former son-in-law, Frank Pierce, all of Marion; a sister-in-law, Avis N. Blackburn of Valparaiso, Ind.; and a brother-in-law, Bryan Norman of Nixa, Mo.

Crider was preceded in death by his wife, Virgina Crider; two infant sons; and his parents, Guy and Gracie Watson Crider.

Funeral services were Friday, May 16, 2008 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Sister Lucy Tedrick, Rev. Mike Jones and Rev. Curtis Franklin officiating.
Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery.
