Opal Johnson, 93, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, in Sallisaw. She was born Aug. 22, 1909, in Reed, Ark. She was a former educator in Sequoyah County, member of Homemakers Extension for more than 50 years, a graduate of Sallisaw High School and a Presbyterian. She was the widow of Ivan William Johnson. Graveside service will be noon today at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla. under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She is survived by three sisters, Oca Mae Abernathy of St. Louis, Leah LeCours of Hazelwood, Mo., and Lois Evans of Manchester, Mo.; and a brother, Faxon Stinnett of Vian. Pallbearers will be family.
