George Calvin Jones, son of the late Lee and Della Hogan Jones, was born Jan. 16, 1906, at Viola. He departed this life May 1, 1984, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, at the age of 78 years, three months and 15 days.
He was united in marriage to Willie Hicks Bradbury on Feb. 11, 1948 at Salem.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Jones of the home in Viola; one stepson, Bill Bradbury of Norfork; one brother, Russell L. Jones of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren; three nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
George Jones was a member of the Church of Christ and he served in the Army during World War II.
Funeral services were Friday, May 4, 1984, in the Viola Church of Christ with Brother Frank Plachy officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Calm Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Leland Carter Funeral Home of Salem.
