HENRY CLYDE BURNS

Henry Clyde Burns passed away at his home, 116 Lafayette St., Washington, Mo., on Monday, Jan. 30, 1950, at 11:30 p.m. at the age of 44 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Mr. Burns was born in Dixon, Mo., on Oct. 27, 1905, where he received his education and grew into young manhood.

He was united in marriage to Lela Ferguson at Dixon, Mo., who preceded him in death about six months after marriage.

Thereafter he was married to Mary Roberson, and to this union, three children were born, whom he leaves to survive.

After his divorce, he was later married to Mrs. Jewel Lohmeyer, and later divorced from this marriage.

Since the year 1937 Mr. Burns resided permanently in Washington, Mo., having operated a restaurant and tavern business until his death. About a month ago he suffered a fall, having broken his leg, although was recovering from this misfortune and death occurred rather suddenly.

Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his mother.

Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Lavern Akery and Eugene Burns, Dixon, Mo., Wayne Burns, Washington, Mo., father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Burns, Washington, Mo., one brother, Burton Burns, Washington, Mo., one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, four grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Remains were in state at the Nieburg & Vitt Funeral Home, Washington, Mo., until Wednesday evening. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, Feb. 2, 1950, 1:30 o'clock at the Gilbert Funeral Home, Dixon, Mo. Interment in Dixon Cemetery.
