Daniel was one of the earliest Mennonite settlers in Wood County.

Daniel was a weaver by trade.
He was one of the organizers of the denomination in Perry Township. He moved to Knox Twp. Columbiana Co. Ohio 1825 and moved to Wood County, Ohio 2 Sep 1847. He was the owner of 100 acres of good land. Politically he was a Whig. He died at 82 years of age while walking to Sunday morning church.
