He died near the close of the Civil War and was over 70 years old. He is buried near Coffeyville, KS
etc. : He was among the first settlers in what is now Wood & Rains Co., arriving abt 1843; he spent some time in TN & MO before coming to TX. He fought in the Texas War of Independence. He was a gunsmith, farmer & rancher.
