Mrs. Haragan died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 12, 1923 in Loco, Okla. to Tom and Clara Mae (Johnson) Kent. She married Dewey "Dood" Haragan in Littlefield on March 8, 1942. He preceded her in death July 23, 1985.
Her parents; a son, who was stillborn; two grandsons, Kent and Greg; and a sister, Mildred Chisholm, also preceded her in death.
She moved with her parents to the Sudan community when she was four years old. She remained a resident until 2002. She moved to Lubbock in 2002 to be near her daughter and family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sudan and was a 1938 graduate of Sudan High School. She was a member of the Sudan Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting, playing "42," and fishing. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, grandchildren and others. She was employed by automobile dealerships in Sudan and Littlefield as a bookkeeper for over 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Baker and husband Ronnie of Lubbock; grandson, James and wife Kathy Humphreys of Lubbock; step-granddaughter, Terri Fudge and husband David; step-grandson, Eddie Baker; great-granddaughters, Krystal, Alyssa and Kristan Humphreys; step-great granddaughter, Brianne Brewer; and great-great grandson, Westin Kent Humphreys.
