Cathy L. Wheland, 44, of RD1 Box 547, Tyrone, died Wednesday, morning, November 15, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born September 22, 1962 at Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Richard E. and Berle J. (McNeal) Barto. She was married May 26, 2001 in Tyrone to Samuel L. Wheland. She is survived by her husband and a daughter Jaymie Nicole Ray of N.J.; two brothers and two sisters: Kerry B. Barto and Crystal L.Peightal of Tyrone, Shawnee R. Dickson (Foster) and Michael S. Barto of Riggles Gap, Pa.; her mother-in-law, Susan Wheland of Tyrone; two nieces: Autumn Christine (Todd) and Montana Peightal and a nephew Cory Peightal. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Alan O. Barto. She was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1980 and a member of the Tyrone American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her cats Cinnamon, Sandy, Lizzy, Molly and her loving dog Dakota.
She was a bartender at the Bull Pen Restaurant for 19 years and recently assistant steward at the Tyrone American Legion for five years. A graveside service will be held at the Baughman Cemetery.
