Former Filer Farmer Dies at Age of 73
Frank Gentry, 73, former Filer farmer, died Friday at his home in Yakima, Washington.
He was born Nov. 26, 1888 at Fairview, Missouri, coming to Idaho in 1918. He was a farmer in Filer for 20 years before moving to Oklahoma and then to Yakima three years ago. He was preceded in death by his first wife; Mrs. Lulu Gentry in 1927 and a son, Lieut. Wayne Gentry, during Wordl War II in the South Pacific. He married Lena Estes in March of 1959.
Surviving besides his widow are three sons, Harold Gentry, Gooding; Fred Gentry, Los Altos, California, and Herbert Gentry, Orlando, Flordia; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Slatter, Jerome; Mrs. Maxine Peterson and Mrs. Dorothy Olsen, both of Kimberly; a brother, Estes Gentry, Fiarview, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. C. Q. Kelly, Twin Falls; a stepson, Henry Estes, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Opal Dow, both of Yakima, Washington; 23 grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the White Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Donald Hoffman officiating. Concluding rites will be held at Twin Falls Cemetery.
