A funeral service for Joann Heins, 63, of Manville, was held Sept. 16, 2003 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Interment followed in the Dellview Cemetery at Manville.

Joann Heins died Sept. 13, 2003, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

She was born Dec. 6, 1939, to Vern and Evelyn (Sullivan) Garhart. She grew up in the Manville and Lance Creek area, and attended Manville school through the eighth grade.

She married Bill Canaday on Feb. 23, 1957, and later married Allen Heins on Dec. 19, 1967. Together they raised five children: Bill, John, Cody, Randy and Beverly.

The family lived on the ranch west of Keeline for 35 years before moving to Manville. Joann enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Manville Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Randy, and one sister Marcia Cox.

She is survived by her husband Allen of Manville; three sons, Bill Canaday of Cheyenne, John Canaday of Toledo, Ohio, and Cody Heins of Powell, Wyo.; one daughter, Beverly Lashmett of Lusk; and four sisters, Verna Hawley of Lusk, Arlene Arends of Lusk, Nila Barrett of Wheatland, and Carol Lambert of Manville; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family would appreciate memorials to the family or to the Wyoming Kidney Center in Casper, Wyo.
