m: Mildred Louise Peugh Shinn Stanley
m: Patricia Ann Carpenter Adams Shinn Gordon (1926-1988) in Imperial Co, CA

A. George Shinn passed away March 11, 2010. He was born July 1, 1924, in Denver, Colo., but spent most of his life in California and Oregon.

He had a great sense for adventure and commercially fished for tuna for more than 20 years in the summer. Based in San Diego, Calif., he would follow the albacore from Mexico to Alaska in his 42-foot boat, the Lorri Ray.

During World War II, he helped commission firing systems on ships for the US Navy. After the war ended, he completed training to become an IBEW lineman, and later an electrician. He retired from construction in 1982, and enjoyed being a gentleman farmer in Shasta, Calif., until he moved to Brookings, Ore., where he enjoyed sport fishing on his 28' Glassply, King Stalker. He loved being near the ocean.

George is survived by his son Darrell (Linnea) Shinn of Chelan; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a nephew and niece, both residing in California. He was preceded in death by his son, Garry Shinn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
