JAMES EPPS
James Harry Epps, 58, 6207 Joyce Drive, S, E., Washington, D.C., died Tuesday.
A native of Athens, had had live in Washington, DC for the past 20 years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben T. Epps and was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He served in the U. S. Navy Reserve for 15 ½ years and retired as a captain. He was presently employed at the Navy Bureau of Weapons in Washington,DC with more than 20 years service.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Oconee Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Wesley Stephens officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. James Harry (Par Mary Gerke) Epps; a daughter Mrs. Dale Young, Atlanta; a son James Harry Epps, Jr., Washington,DC; two sisters, Mrs. William R. Galt, Athens, and Mrs. H. W. Whitaker, Yacama, Wash.; five brothers, Ben T Epps, Atlanta, William Douglas Epps, Jonesboro, Ernest Patrick Epps, Atlanta, George F Epps, Huntsville, Ala., and Charles W Epps, Brunswick, Maine; six step children; and eight grandchildren.
The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. William R Galt, 825 Hill St., after noon Friday.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
