Ora lee Welker of Desloge, Mo., formerly of Washington County, passed away October 15, 1988 in Bonne Terre Hospital at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was born May 8, 1901 at Palmer, Mo., to the late Horace and Martha Jane (Wilson) White.

Mrs. Welker knew the Lord as her Savior and was a member of the Springtown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Johnson; her second husband, Bert Lawson; one daughter, Cleo Johnson Dunlap; 4 brothers, Bates, Monte, Russell and Clyde White; 6 sisters, Edith White, Mintie Scott, Nettie Breakfield, Althea Skaggs, Grace King and Blance Counts; and one grandson, Robert J. Lawson.

Those who remain to mourn her passing from this life are her devoted husband, Dewey Welker of Desloge; two sons, Chester Lawson and wife, Jean of California, Abe Lawson and wife Mary of Rt. 2, Mineral Point; one brother, Guylett White of Potosi; one sister, Flossie (Mrs. Steve Welker) of Potosi; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted 2 P.M. Tuesday, October 18, at Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Dave Bridgeman officiating. Interment was in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Rt. 1, Potosi, under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.

Serving as pallbearers were: Davie Skiles, Mickey Mosier, Dave Douglas, Max Welker, Steve Welker and Jim Smith.
