BETTENDORF — Funeral services for Abby Lynn Vermeire, 24, of Bettendorf, Iowa, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Abby died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street , Davenport, from injuries received in an automobile accident. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
Abby was born September 6, 1985, in Moline, Ill., the daughter of Jeff and Patricia Scudder Vermeire. She was a graduate of Moline High School Class of 2004. She most recently was enrolled at Scott Community College pursuing a degree in nursing. She had been working as a cosmetologist at Studio Serene in Moline. Abby and her fiancé, Erik Hayek were engaged to be married July 17, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Abby's love of life was infectious. Her energy and smile would light up a room wherever she went. She always put others first. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Patricia Vermeire and Greg Robertson of Moline; sister and brother-in-law, Angie and Patrick Linn of Wichita, Kan.; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Rebecca Robertson of Moline; grandparents, Robert Scudder of Silvis, Ill., Joe and Kay Clark of Hampton, Ill., and Bernie and Lois Robertson of Moline; fiancé, Erik Hayek of Bettendorf; four nieces; three nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and future father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Eunice Hayek of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her father.
