Funeral Services for Adell Frances Hughes were held Friday, May 21, 2010 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah, Oklahoma under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Adell Frances Hughes was born June 27, 1918 in Tamaha, Oklahoma the daughter of Gus and Maggie Jane (Merriman) Hardin. Adell died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was 91 years of age.

The former Miss Adell Hardin married James D. Hughes on September 19, 1936 in Arapaho, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1989. Adell was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching television and dressing up. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.

She is survived by, daughters, Betty Carter of Broken Arrow, Barbara Hodgerson of Oklahoma City, June and husband Dwain Cooper of Rogers, AR, grandchildren, Mike Carter of Norman, Pam Pierce of Broken Arrow, David Teeman of Moore, Jimmy Teeman of Owasso, Ken Cooper of Broken Arrow, Cindi Newman of Broken Arrow, and 12 great grandchildren
