Mr. Clauser was standing near a fence on the farm of his daughter, Mrs. Theo Brewington, watching the loading of some cattle when he was stricken.
He died before a physician could reach the home in the Twelve-Mile community.
Funeral services were held yesterday at Little Vine with Webb's Mortuary in charge. Rev. Alcorn was the minister.
Fred Christopher Clauser was born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 4, 1870, the son of John and Kate (Smith) Clauser who came to this country from Switzerland.
Fred moved to this county in 1888.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Mouser, March 3, 1897. Mrs. Clauser preceded him in death two years ago.
To this union 7 children were born, 4 died in infancy, three are left to mourn his death: Mrs. Theo Brewington of Zion; Mrs. Fred Maze of Fredericktown, and Mr. Oscar Clauser of Fredericktown.
He also leaves to mourn his departure with 9 brothers and 1 sister.
They are James Clauser of Toledo, Ohio; Rudolph, Jacob, Henry, Sam, George, William, Chas. And Mrs. T.W. O'Bannon of Fredericktown and Frank of East St. Louis, Ill.; nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Mr. Clauser joined the Cedar Bottom church 32 years ago and was a faithful member until his death.
