H.C. Wells married Mabel Crain on 17 January 1908 at Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas. He preceded her in death. The couple moved to Newcastle in 1908. She moved to Fort Worth in 1977.

Services for Mabel Wells, 103, were held at Proffitt Baptist Church officiated by Rev. William H. Gray. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survived by one daughter - Mabel Wells; four sons - Walter Y. Wells, George W. Wells, Wilson Wells, Robert D. Wells; one sister - Agnes George; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter - Nell Reeves; three sons - Rusty Wells, Coleman Wells, Don Moody Wells.

Crain, of our town, and is well known here as a young lady of excellent worth. The groom is a prosperous ranchman of Young county.
