Jesse B. "Pete" Aldrich

SPRINGFIELD - Jesse B. "Pete" Aldrich, 80, passed away May 21, 2008 under Hospice care from a worn out heart.

Born in Bulloch County, December 20, 1927, Jesse was a true Southern Gentleman. He will be missed by both family and friends.

He was retired from Kemira and was a US Army Korean Conflict veteran.

He was very active and was known most to his love of farming and fishing during the spring and summer. Jesse loved being on his tractor.

During the fall and winter (the past seven years) he was employed at South Effingham School's Pryme Tyme.

He enjoyed children, they kept him young at heart, through laughing. He was a loving husband and father.

Survivors: wife, Leila D. Aldrich of Springfield; children, Pat Sallette (Michael) of Richmond Hill, Bonnie Newman (Kenny) of Savannah, Teresa Burkley of Savannah, Chris Aldrich of Brooklet, Ann Brown of Brooklet, Carol Ward of Rincon, Beth Romanow (Steve) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Celeste Drescher of Rincon; a sister, Henrietta Glisson of Pooler; grandchildren, Bubba Bragg (Leigh), Vicki Lincoln (Bryan), Erik Burkley, and John, Jesse, Kenny Lee, Lindsey, and Wallace Drescher; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25 in Woods Family Cemetery.
