Leo W. Martin, 78, formerly of Wyoming, Ill., died at noon Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Toulon, where he was a resident.

Born April 22, 1927, in Peoria to Charles Ross and Naomi Wilkinson Martin, he married Nellie Remfro on Dec. 26, 1969. She died March 13, 1998, in Toulon.

He also was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are three sisters, Willidean (and Earl) Stahl, Irma Tucker and Virginia Schneider, all of Princeville.

A World War II and Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Wyoming American Legion Post 91.

He was a highway maintenance worker for the Illinois Department of Transportation in Wyoming for many years before retiring.

Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by his American Legion post.
