James L.Nash ,70 year old farmer of near Strafford ,was injured fatally at 8:15 a.m.today,When struck by a motor car on treacherous Northview Hill ,17 miles east of springfield.Mrs.Floyd throckmorton ,32 of Kansas City ,driver of the machine that hit Nash,wrecked her car in an effort to avoid striking him.Nash was walking from his home to Northview to do some shopping.The aged man started to cross the highway in front of the auto,and changed his mind and started back,zig-sagging as he walked.The Kansas city woman cut her wheels abruptly to miss him,but sideswiped him.Her car went in the ditch.Nash died shortly before 11'clock at Springfield Baptist.He had head injury and a crushed chest.Surviving Nash are the widow Sarah Nash and 8 children John,Clarence,Cass,Mrs.Roma Martin,Mrs.May Stafford,Daisy,Anna.
