Mrs. Durk was the former Miss Eugenia Pigg, daughter of Benjamin and Arabella West Pigg, and was born at Brown Station on March 20, 1889. On December 24, 1907, she was married to Jesse E. Durk in Hallsville, where they made their home until the time of her death. She was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Hallsville.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Pearl West; three sons, Ralph E. Durk, Charles L. Durk and Richard Durk, all of Hallsville. Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Pearl Durk of Centralia; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Church of God Holiness in Hallsville by Rev. Burl Clanahan, Church of God Holiness, Columbia, and Rev. Charles Welch, pastor of the local church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia." Centralia Fireside Guard (Centralia, Missouri), May 31, 1962
