Besides Katy, Billy leaves three children, William "Bill" Braswell Short, Jr., b. 28 August 1944 (wife Dianne West Short), Cherlyne Short (Majors), b. 23 December 1946 and Lisa Ruth Snedeker-Short (husband Mike Snedeker), b. 6 December 1953
He also leaves seven grandchildren, West, Will and Kate Short, Monique and Langston Majors and Becket and Zoe Snedeker-Short. They all miss him.
Note: His ashes were scattered at sea in front of their home in Laguna Beach, California. There is a memorial bench in the cemetery.
