She was born Apr. 8, 1924 in Lawrence the daughter of William Phillip and Mary Marie Burghart Moorman.
Mrs. Sexton graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
She was a homemaker and worked for The Velvet Freeze in high school and worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant during World War II.
Mrs. Sexton married Robert R. "Bob" Sexton on July 5, 1945 in Lawrence, he preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2009.
Survivors include a son Terry S. Sexton and wife Kathy, Lawrence; a daughter, Connie S. Vogt and husband Terry, Knoxville, TN; a brother, Edward W. Moorman, Dayton, OH; sisters Esther B. Jost of Omaha, NE., Mary Katherine Brubaker of Florissant, MO; two grandchildren, Christine Smits and Brian Vogt; and four great-grandsons, Duncan, Blake and Cooper Smits, and Phoenix Vogt.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time where the family will receive friends from 12:30 to service time at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
