Funeral services for John Dickerson Joslin, who died Wednesday, March 8, at his home in Neosho Rapids, were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in the Free Methodist Church at Neosho Rapids. M. S. Jensen, of Emporia, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. D. E. McVey, of Neosho Rapids. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
J. D. Joslin was born August 24, 1829, at Caledonia, Steuben County, N.Y. When he was nine years old he moved with his parents to Michigan. He was married to Susanah L. Hutchins in 1857 in Vassar, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Joslin moved to Neosho Rapids in 1888. Mr. Joslin was a carpenter in Neosho Rapids until his health failed several years ago. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Mrs. Joslin died in Neosho Rapids three years ago.
Mr. Joslin is survived by five children. They are: Mrs. Mattie E. Walz, and Mrs. Ettie L. Martin, both of Neosho Rapids; Mrs. Mildred A. Manning, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Eliza M. Rawlinson and Ernest H. C. Joslin of Kansas City. He is also survived by a brother, Oscar N. Joslin, of Nickerson, and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
