Mr John Claborne Burt Sr, 74, of Keltys, passed away at the Angelina County Hospital Friday morning after a short illness.
Mr Burt was born May 11, 1874 in Mississippi and had been a resident of Keltys for the past twelve years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Martha V Burt of Keltys: three sons: Jim Burt of Alto, JC Burt of Bridge City, Texas, and Neland Burt of Keltys; one daughter Mrs Reese Free of Keltys; three brothers, five sisters, 20 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the residence of his daughter Mrs Reese Free of Keltys with Rev A. L. Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Gann Cemetery.
The reminds will lie in state at the residence of Mrs Free from seven o'clock tonight until the funeral hour,
