John Doyle, 83
John "Jack" E. Doyle, 83, of Holland, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at his home. He was a charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus of Holland, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in World War II. He retired from Textron-Excello after numerous years of employment. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christine; children, Christine and David Bock of Romeo, John T. and Jo Ann Doyle of Holland, Edward Doyle of Anchorage, Alaska, Theresa and Mike Magri of Madison Heights, Kathleen Collins of Holland, David and Kathy Doyle of Zeeland, Robert and Kris Doyle of West Olive, and Julie Doyle of Holland; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law, John Heigel of Detroit, Theresa Plizga of Roseville, Anna and Anthony Liburdi of Warren, Rose Ward of Roseville, Joseph and Pat Heigel of Detroit, and Celia Erfourth of Detroit; nephews and nieces. Services are 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 N. 152nd Ave., with the Rev. Phil Nguyen officiating. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday with wake prayers offered by Deacon Walt Hollis at 8 p.m. Visitation will also be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Holland Rescue Mission. An on-line registry book is available at www.lakeshorememorial.com.
