Truman E. Thomason of Greenville died Tuesday at a local nursing home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Rather officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

Mr. Thomason was born May 28, 1911, in Hunt County to John M. and Ethel Flesher Thomason. He was a farmer and a rural mail carrier.

He is survived by a daughter, Darlene Leger of Lafayette, La.; a sister, Madee Broadway of Greenville; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Aulby and Elwood Thomason.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
