Clara Ida Estep, 86, of Orgas passed away on Jan. 19, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a short illness.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Estep. She was the 16th child born to the combined family of the late H. J. Hendricks and Bertha Hendricks of Keith.

She was a lifelong resident of Keith/Orgas and a member of the Orgas Presbyterian Church. She was a 1940 Sherman High School graduate. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 61 years and a dedicated mother and grandmother. She had a great compassion for all and showed kindness to everyone.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Winters, Gladys Cooper, Mabel Cadle, Edna Holstein, Lula Osborn and Blanche Janiszewski; and brothers, Henry Hendricks, Lon Hendricks, Ray Hendricks, Walter Hendricks, Boyd Hendricks, Bruce Hendricks, Newt Hendricks, Floyd Smith, Quincy Hendricks, and Harold Hendricks.

She is survived by a son, Larry Estep of St. Stephens, S.C.; two daughters, Lois Guthrie of Orgas and Louise Emergo of Charleston; sister, Joyce Moran of Orgas; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Orgas Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 48, Orgas, WV 25148, or a hospice of their choice.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 23 at Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, with the Rev. David Minturn and Joan Walker officiating. Interment followed at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.
