Mrs. Sullivan was born September 8, 1900, in Effingham, Kansas, the daughter of John and Mary Murphy Burns. Paul Justin Sullivan and Loretta Burns were married October 15, 1919, in Effingham, Kansas. He died on August 12, 1953. Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker and owner, along with her husband, of the bank in Mercier, Kansas, from 1919 to 1953. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of the Legion Auxiliary Unit #378, Collyer, Kansas, and a member of the St. Joseph's Altar Society, Nortonville, Kansas.
Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband, Justin Sullivan; three sons, Gilbert, Tom and Jim Sullivan; one daughter, Maureen Ruggles; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Will, Jim, Leo and Paul Burns, and six sisters, Anna Kelly, Lucy Martin, Nell Bonnell, Mary Burns, Kay Marsden and Mildred Burns.
Survivors include six sons, Paul J. Sullivan of Shawnee, Kansas, Leo E. Sullivan of Fredericksburg, Texas, Charles A. Sullivan of Lakin, Kansas, Dan J. Sullivan of Holton, Kansas, Tim R. Sullivan of Denver, Colorado, and Terry R. Sullivan of Los Cruces, New Mexico; three daughters, Kathleen Weishaar of Nortonville, Margaret Pianalto of Atwood, Kansas, and Helen Sullivan of Overland Park; one sister, Sr. Fabiola Burns, O.S.B., Atchison; forty-five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
